The first public lecture on anatomy in Boston, it is delivered by the surgeon who left Boston in 1776 for Nova Scotia and then London, before returning this year. Disturbed by Jeffries’ previous Loyalist sympathies and current advocacy for dissection, a mob disrupts the meeting.
